Native Tree Packs to Plant in Your Garden
Welcome to the Trees on the Land Garden Tree Planting Scheme.
This scheme is designed for private home gardens only and should not be used to apply for trees for farms, smallholdings, community projects, or schools and colleges.
Please note that applications are limited to a maximum of 100 trees per garden. Please take care not to exceed these numbers when selecting your tree packs.
There are charges for all garden tree packs equivalent to approximately €1.50 per tree. There is an additional delivery charge of €25 for every order.
Garden Tree Packs will be delivered out to you by courier, we will let you know when we are starting to pack your trees for delivery.
We ask that you read these important points carefully before continuing. There is a box in the application form that you must tick to confirm that you have read and agree to the following:
To take part in the Trees on the Land project entirely at your own risk.
To ensure you have permission for planting.
Not to plant on unenclosed land, moorland, wetland, heathland, bog or unimproved historic pasture or meadow. Please email for advice before making an application if your site falls within these areas.
Not to plant on land falling within an SAC, SPA, SSSI, NHA or any other designated site. Please email for advice before making an application if your site falls within these areas.
To keep back the required distances from power lines and phone cables and not to plant directly beneath them. It is your responsibility to check relevant set backs for phone and power lines and especially higher voltage power lines with the ESB.
To keep back from underground pipes or cables - electric cables, water pipes, gas supplies, sewage and wastewater pipes and other drainage. It is your responsibility to check for underground pipes, cables and services before planting trees.
To keep back 3 - 5 metres from small roads and tracks and 10 meters from main roads.

Mixed native trees for a shelter belt.
To include an appropriate mix of alder, birch, scots pine and hawthorn. Oak, crab apple, rowan, hazel, guelder rose and other native species will be added in small numbers and as supplies allow.
Mixed native trees for a hedgerow.
To include a mix of hawthorn and hazel. Small numbers of blackthorn, rowan, crab apple, guelder rose, willow, oak, spindle and other native species will be added as supplies allow.
Mixed native trees for a woodland.
To include an appropriate mix of oak, alder, birch, scots pine and hawthorn. Small numbers of crab apple, hazel, rowan, guelder rose and other native species will be added as supplies allow.
Mixed native trees for a coppice.
To include an appropriate mix of alder, birch and hawthorn. Small numbers of oak, crab apple, hazel, rowan, guelder rose and other native species will be added as supplies allow.
What to do next:
You should now see a shopping trolley picture in the top right hand corner of the screen.
Please click on it to see your order and check it is correct.
Then click the ‘checkout’ button to continue to the application form and payment section which will complete your order.
If you do not see the shopping trolley picture, go back and reselect the number of trees you would like and remember to click the ‘Add to Cart’ button for each tree pack that you order.
You will receive a confirmation of your order by email and we will keep you updated with further news and delivery information by email.
