Trees for Communities

We have some wonderful sponsors and donors this year helping to support community tree planting projects across the 32 counties.

• Native trees are available free of charge to community groups, councils, sports clubs, youth groups, healthcare and hospital grounds, church and faith communities, Tidy Towns, residents groups, community gardens, and allotments - community organisations of all kinds are welcome to apply.

• This season we are running two community schemes:

• Small Tree Packs:
  Apply for up to 250 trees to plant in your community.
  Tree packs for planting small areas of woodland or coppice, for setting new lengths of hedgerow, for planting shelter belts, riparian and waterside areas, and for planting scattered individual trees and groups of trees as parkland.

• Larger Community Projects:
  For more ambitious community projects where tree numbers will exceed 250 trees.
  You will be able to plant up to 1,000 trees in the first season with options to continue planting in subsequent seasons as a multi-year project. We will work closely with you to plan, design and coordinate your tree planting, and to support you with management, maintenance and monitoring of the trees to ensure successful establishment. This scheme includes woodland, coppice, hedgerow, shelter belt, riparian/waterside, parkland, as well as community orchards, forest gardens and food forests, community tree giveaways, roadside planting and rewilding projects. We welcome collaborative projects with multiple organisations and stakeholders .
