With over 20 years of experience working in heritage and landscape conservation, landscape architecture and environmental decision making, Brian has worked with countless community groups on biodiversity action plans and community tree planting projects. Brian leads our community projects, helping groups with the planning and design of their planting plans. Her main interests lie in the restoration and re-establishment of tree cover on farmland and in the wider landscape. She has a special interest in agroforestry of all kinds, particularly wood-pasture, and is a director of the Irish Agroforestry Forum. She has a long‑standing interest in environmental protection, biodiversity and sustainable rural living. After taking time out to raise her children, she returned to the workforce as an administrator and bookkeeper in the agricultural and veterinary sectors. Mark trained in the UK, Canada and France, and has previously worked for National Trust Wales as Countryside Manager for Gwynedd North Wales, as Regional Forester for North Wales and as project manager for the Ogwen Valley River Restoration Project. He has lectured in Environmental and European Forestry and Forestry Ecology at Bangor University and has studied agroforestry for more than 40 years, travelling widely and including a years sabbatical studying agroforestry in China, Chile and New Zealand. Through his business, Aspen Consultants, he works with farmers, communities, conservation organisations and the construction sector on ecological assessment, habitat creation and practical land management. Réamaí farms cattle and sheep, using his own farm as a practical testing ground for integrating food production with biodiversity, soil health, diverse grasslands, trees and woodland. He has a particular interest in agroforestry and in finding practical roles for trees across both lowland and upland farms. Underlying his work is the Gaelic concept of dúchas — an understanding of people, land, culture and the wider living world as interconnected rather than separate. She is an environmental advocate, self-professed tree hugger and a climate solutions enthusiast. Kezia has worked internationally to advance sustainability initiatives with organisations including Walmart, the U.S. Department of Energy, the World Wildlife Fund, Planet Wild and many others. She drives communications and campaigns at ClimateLove Ireland and in 2019, she founded an environmental advocacy organization that was nominated for an Irish Red Cross Award.
